The Ames Building in Boston/ MA will be converted into a 114 room boutique hotel. It is located in the heart of downtown Boston/ Massachusetts at the intersection of Court/ State and Washington Streets offering excellent proximity to numerous major office towers in the Financial District/ Faneuil Hall Marketplace/ Government Center and the New England Aquarium/waterfront area. The property was built in 1893 and was Bostons first skyscraper and is the second tallest masonry load bearing-wall structure in the world. The Ames building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The project will consist of 114 rooms within 13 floors for a total of 85/949 square feet of above ground area. The entire building will be renovated to included guestrooms/ building systems/ the lobby/ common areas/ and back-of-house space and façade renovations. The hotel will feature many distinct architectural elements/ including an 18-foot domed mosaic lobby ceiling/ dramatic windows and 12 to 14-foot ceilings in the guestrooms. The restaurant / lounge will have a unique outdoor terrace on Washington Mall/ a pedestrian walkway. The Ames Building comprises 93/599 square feet/ of which 85/949 is above ground.
