Marblehead is a truly historic and attractive New England town. Incorporated in 1649, its landscape today features more than 300 buildings constructed before the American Revolution - more than can be found in any other community in America! And we say that our Marblehead is the birthplace of the American Navy because in 1775 General George Washington commissioned the great schooner Hannah, and the Hannah was owned and manned by Marbleheader's.

Travelers for pleasure and business alike relish the historic quality of Marblehead, its beautiful harbor and the rocky cliffs of its shoreline. They also like its close proximity to Logan Airport (12 miles) and Boston, and neighboring Salem and Swampscott. It proves a marvelous setting for sailing and fishing enthusiasts, history buffs and weekend escapers too. Whether visiting Boston, exploring the North Shore, or crossing the Atlantic Ocean, travelers find Marblehead a perfect haven - just out of the mainstream and loaded with quaint historic charm.
